The stylish wash-up brush has a replaceable brush head which is made of natural FSC beech wood an Tampico bristles. Tampico is also known as Mexican fibre. It is natural plant fibre which comes from the lechuguilla plant or agave cactus. The fibres have a soft texture, great elasticity and are resistant to high temperatures, acids and caustic soda. Tampico also has great water-retaining properties, is stronger than commonly used nylon or horsehair, keeps its shape, is non-scratch, and completely biodegradable.
The petrol-coloured handle is made of silicon and stainless steel, making it comfortable and long-lasting. Silicone comes from naturally occurring sand and minerals but it is a synthetic, processed material and preferable to polypropylene or plastic. TerraCycle recycles silicone if you ever want to get rid of your washing-up brush handle. The brush head is fully compostable.
To replace the brush head slide the silicone part of the handle down to release the head. The brush should be allowed to dry completely between uses.
The dish brush is also available as part of our ‘Wash Up Box’, and you will find the replaceable brush heads in a separate listing.
